Colindale Police Station Front Counter Shuts for Four-Month Refurb
Colindale Police Station is closing its front counter from 7am on Monday, 5 April, as part of a major refurbishment set to last around four months. But don’t panic – the local public won’t be left stranded.
Services Shift to Barnet Police Station – No Gaps Allowed
The front counter at Barnet Police Station will open at the exact same time Colindale’s closes, ensuring seamless service. Barnet, about seven miles away, will act as the 24/7 hub for locals during the overhaul.
Police Assure Public: Help Is Still at Hand
Superintendent Louis Smith, North West Area BCU, said: “This refurbishment is necessary. Colindale’s current building doesn’t give our staff the facilities or equipment they need to serve the community properly.”
He added: “We understand concerns about the temporary closure, but the station and its 24-hour counter will reopen once work is done. At no point will anyone be without quick access to police help.”
Residents can still get in touch with police via multiple channels:
- Online at the official police website
- By phone on 101 for non-emergencies
- Dial 999 in an emergency
- Contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
Officers and staff remain in close contact with the public and partners throughout the refurbishment.
