Major Trowbridge Drug Bust Yields Cash and Arrests
- Officers raided a property on College Road, Trowbridge, confiscating a large stash of cash and drugs.
- A 22-year-old man, wanted by Avon and Somerset Police for outstanding offences, was taken into custody.
- A 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of drug offences but released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Southwick and Melksham: Suspicious Vehicles and Youth Arrests
- Police stopped a suspicious vehicle in Trowbridge, arresting a 30-year-old man on suspicion of supply of Class A drugs and drug driving. He was later released pending investigation.
- A related property search in Frome uncovered illegal drugs and paraphernalia.
- Two teenagers aged 16 and 17 were stopped and searched in Melksham, with officers seizing two knives and cannabis. Enquiries are ongoing.
- A 16-year-old boy from Melksham was arrested for suspected involvement in cannabis supply but has since been released while investigations continue.
Stolen Dogs and Weapons: A Shocking Find in Southwick
- Three men were arrested in a joint operation with Avon and Somerset Police.
- Police recovered 12 stolen high-value dogs, two vehicles, and eight weapons linked to thefts in Bristol.
Detective Inspector Geoff Smith from Operation Fortitude said: “Despite the national lockdown, we are continuing to carry out proactive and reactive work, disrupting criminals who cause great harm to our communities.
“The public are rightly concerned about illegal drug supply and the violence it brings. The seizure of these weapons highlights the danger, and yesterday’s operation is making our streets safer.”
