Knife-Wielding Thief Strikes Shop, Makes Off With Cash
Just before 3pm on Friday, March 18, a man stormed into a local shop and threatened the worker with a knife. He demanded money and fled with a three-figure sum towards Anderson Avenue.
Suspect on the Run
- White male, around 25 years old
- Height: Between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in
- Slim build with short brown hair
- Wearing grey tracksuit, black hoodie underneath
- Had a black balaclava covering his face
- Sporting distinctive blue and white Nike trainers
Shaken, But Unhurt
Detective Inspector Laura Dickson spoke out about the shocking incident. “Fortunately, the 41-year-old shop worker was uninjured but is badly shaken after this terrifying robbery,” she said.
Police Hunt for Clues
Officers have scoured the area and are reviewing CCTV footage. DI Dickson urged witnesses and the public to come forward with any information or footage that could crack the case.
“If you were nearby at the time or recognise the man, please get in touch. Any footage could be crucial to our investigation.”
