Urgent Search Launched for Missing Teen Cousins
Fifteen-year-old Andreea vanished from her Canterbury home in Kent on Friday, 1 October. Her 16-year-old cousin Izabela was last spotted two days later, on Sunday, 3 October, in Harrow, west London.
High-Risk Investigation Underway
Police have launched a high-risk missing person inquiry. Officers are chasing multiple leads to track down the two teens. Aside from Kent and London, detectives believe the girls have connections in Leicester and Dundee. Police Scotland are helping the Metropolitan Police with the search.
On Tuesday, 5 October, a 54-year-old man was arrested in north London on suspicion of people trafficking. He remains in custody.
Police Plea: “We Need Your Help”
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Bellis of the North West Public Protection Unit said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of Andreea and Izabela.
“While we are keeping an open mind about their whereabouts, we fear they may have been taken outside London by people who could harm them.
“I want to speak directly to Andreea and Izabela: You are not in trouble. There are people who want to help you. Please contact police or someone you trust when it’s safe to do so.”
“We also urge anyone in London, Dundee, or elsewhere with information to come forward urgently.”
