Woman Found Dead in Ashton-Under-Lyne Flat
Police were called just before 9:15am today after a woman was found dead in a flat on Manchester Road, Ashton-under-Lyne. A 51-year-old man was quickly arrested at a nearby police station, suspected of murder.
Man in Custody as Major Incident Team Investigates
The suspect remains in custody and is being questioned by detectives from the Major Incident Team. Officers say no other suspects are currently being sought.

“We have one man in custody after he came into Ashton police station shortly after the incident was reported. He is now being questioned on suspicion of her murder.”
