Greggs Sausage Roll Becomes First Food to Get Waxwork at Madame Tussauds!
In a jaw-dropping first, Greggs’ iconic Sausage Roll is turning celebrity as it joins the ranks of Sir David Attenborough and Stormzy at Madame Tussauds London. The handcrafted wax replica will debut on National Sausage Roll Day, Wednesday 5 June 2025, in the museum’s prestigious Culture Capital Zone.
A Historic First for Food
Artists spent countless hours perfecting the golden-brown, flaky pastry and meaty filling in stunning detail. Studio Manager Jo Kinsey revealed they took crafting the sausage roll just as seriously as creating the waxworks of Britain’s A-list celebrities.
“The Greggs Sausage Roll is synonymous with British culture – we just had to put it in our Culture Zone,” said Kinsey. “It’s a history-making feat, and we can’t wait for visitors to be stopped in their tracks by a life-like sausage roll – just in time for National Sausage Roll Day.”
Greggs Boss Calls Honour “Surreal”
Greggs CEO Roisin Currie described the extraordinary tribute as both “proud and slightly surreal.”
“We’re thrilled Madame Tussauds has honoured the Greggs Sausage Roll in such a unique and iconic way. It’s a true celebration of a national favourite and a fitting tribute to its place in the hearts – and stomachs – of the nation.”
