Body Found in Layby on Bridgnorth Road Sparks Police Investigation
A body, believed to be that of a woman, was discovered early this morning in a layby on Bridgnorth Road, Perton. The shocking find came just after 2am on 9 August, but police have yet to establish how she died.
Detectives Hunt for Clues and Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Dan Ison of Staffordshire Police is leading the inquiry. He said: “We’re working on a number of lines of enquiry, but it’s critical that we identify her as soon as possible and we’re appealing for the public’s help.”
He added, “We’re also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Bridgnorth Road and may have seen anything between 2am and 3am today.”
Road Closures and Forensic Work Underway
Bridgnorth Road remains closed in both directions from Tinacre Hill to Jenny Walkers Lane as forensic teams comb the scene. Diversions are in place while police carry out their investigations.
