Man Stabbed to Death in Rushmore Road Fight

Police raced to Rushmore Road, E5, at 3.38pm on Wednesday, 28 August after reports of a violent brawl. Emergency crews, including London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance, found a man with fatal stab wounds.

Despite desperate efforts, the 38-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim Named as Jade Anthony Barnett

The man has been identified as Jade Anthony Barnett. Family members are being supported by specialist officers as a murder investigation kicks off.

Two suspects, aged 28 and 21, were promptly arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and remain in custody in east London.

Crime Scene Still Active as Police Hunt Answers

The local area remains cordoned off while officers comb through CCTV and witness reports. Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, overseeing Hackney and Tower Hamlets policing, said:

“My thoughts are with Jade’s loved ones as they try to come to terms with this horrific incident.”

“Jade was a disabled man well known in the area, so we know this attack will hit residents hard. We are keeping an open mind on motives and urge anyone who feels unsafe or has information to come forward.”
