Shock Attack in Broadmead
The victim was walking through Broadmead between 6.10am and 7am when he struck up a conversation with an unknown man. The stranger then dragged him to Castle Park near the church and raped him.
Police launched extensive CCTV enquiries, media appeals, and increased patrols to track down the culprit.

Victim’s Emotional Plea
“A year ago today, I was attacked and raped in Castle Park shortly after moving here. It’s impossible to describe the impact this has had on me. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. Everyone deserves to feel safe,” the victim said.
