Just after midnight at 12.15am, police rushed to Birch Grove after a terrifying robbery unfolded minutes earlier. Five masked thugs in dark gear ambushed two men right on their driveway, leaving the victims battered with multiple cuts and bruises.
£4,000 Cash and Jewellery Stolen in Brazen Attack
The attackers didn’t just stop at violence. They swiped around £4,000 in cash from a victim’s car and made off with valuable jewellery worn by one of the men.
Thugs Lay Waiting for Over an Hour
Shockingly, cops revealed the crooks lurked outside the property for a full 81 minutes before pouncing. Detectives have pieced together that the gang waited patiently, planning their strike well in advance.
Key Clues: Grey BMW 1 Series and Stolen Goods
Officers have zeroed in on a grey BMW 1 Series used as the getaway vehicle. The car sped off towards the A580 East Lancs Road but is still missing. Detectives have released pictures of stolen items, including a distinctive Kenzo backpack and a pendant necklace, urging the public to come forward if they recognise them.
Detective Inspector Barbara Hebden said, “This was a violent, planned and targeted attack on two men outside their own home. The attack has caused them multiple injuries, serious distress and trauma. Our officers are absolutely determined to bring those responsible to justice.”
“The grey BMW arrived at 10.43pm and sat outside until the victims returned. It then sped off towards the East Lancs Road.”
“We’re appealing to locals for info — whether you saw the car, noticed someone getting picked up, or caught suspicious footage on CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell cameras.”
“If you were around Birch Grove between 10pm on Monday 21st November and just after midnight and spotted anything suspicious, we urge you to get in touch.”
