Two Teens Held Over Fatal Brixton Stabbing
Police arrested an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old in the early hours of Thursday, 29 June. Both remain in custody at a south London police station.
Shane Jerome Stabbed Near Brixton Tube
Officers were called at 8.18pm on Wednesday, 21 July after reports of an assault close to Brixton Underground Station. They found 23-year-old Shane Jerome from Thornton Heath suffering from a stab wound. Despite immediate first aid from police and the arrival of London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance, Shane was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.45pm.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but has since been released with no further action.
Investigation Intensifies as Police Seek Witnesses
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the probe into Shane’s murder. Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn said: “These arrests mark significant progress with our investigation. I hope it reassures Shane’s family and the community that we are working around the clock to bring justice.”
