15-Year-Old Arrested in Croydon Stabbing Murder

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder late on Saturday, 1 January. He is being held in a south London police station as detectives continue their investigation.

Fatal Stabbing in Ashburton Park Shocks Croydon

Police launched a murder probe after a stabbing in Ashburton Park, Croydon, shortly after 7pm on Thursday, 30 December. Officers rushed to the scene where 15-year-old Zaian Aimable-Lina was found seriously injured.

Despite desperate efforts by officers and paramedics, Zaian was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:36pm. A post-mortem on 1 January confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Second Teen Arrested Then Released on Bail

On the following day, 31 December, another 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and later released on bail pending further inquiries. Police continue to appeal for information.
