Justice Appeal After Liverpool Man Fatally Attacked
Andrew Jones died from brutal head injuries after a vicious attack in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Sunday, 9 March 2003. Police found him collapsed on Hanover Street near Gradwell Street just before 3.30am. He was rushed to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital but tragically passed away the next day, Monday, 10 March.
Parents’ Heartbreaking Plea
Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs revealed Andrew’s devastated parents, Christine and Andy, have fought tirelessly for justice ever since. She said: “They have been through a traumatic experience with many questions that remain unanswered. They lost their son in a tragic and horrendous way, and they are still struggling to come to terms with their loss. They will not be able to rest until those responsible are brought to justice.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out
Detectives believe people with information about that night are still holding back. Superintendent Coombs made a heartfelt appeal: “If you have information that can help with the investigation then we urge you to search your conscience and realise the pain and distress that Andrew’s family still feel to this day. By coming forward now, you can help bring this investigation to its proper conclusion and help Andrew’s family find justice and peace.”
