Conmen Target Station Road Residents with Fake Safety Checks
On Monday 3 July 2023, a man posing as a smoke alarm inspector duped a Station Road resident. After gaining entry, he vanished — and so did a stash of cash from the home.
Later that same day, an elderly pensioner on Station Road fell victim to a similar scam. A man claiming to check the electrics left the property. Soon after, the victim discovered their purse had been stolen.
