Dog Snatch Attempt in Kent Sparks Police Warning

Kent Police have issued a stark warning to dog owners after a terrifying attempted snatch in Boughton Monchelsea. On Sunday 19 August, between 7.30am and 8.30am, two men tried to steal a dog from a walker along a footpath off Hubbard’s Lane.

Man and Dog Sprayed During Theft Attempt

The owner challenged the pair, but was sprayed with an unknown substance by one of the suspects. The victim needed hospital treatment for the effects, while the dog was taken to the vet as a precaution.

Suspects Described: Large Man and Slim Accomplice

  • The first man: around 40s, large build, wearing a white shirt and jeans.
  • The second man: about 30s, slim build.

Police Appeal to Dog Walkers

“We are urging dog walkers in the area to be vigilant and keep dogs on leads,” said Detective Sergeant Jemma Cropper. “If you recognise these men or have any information, please get in touch.”
