Family Slam Online Gossip Over Missing Norwich Woman

The family of Gaynor Lord, who vanished last Friday after leaving work in Norwich, have blasted rumours spreading online. The 55-year-old’s relatives called the wild social media theories “unhelpful” and “baseless.”

Frustration Grows Amid Wild Speculation

A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Mail the false claims are making an already painful time even harder. Speculation ranges from claims of a serial killer to police cover-ups – none backed by evidence.

Last Sighting and Mysterious Disappearance

  • Gaynor was last seen around 2:45pm on December 8, leaving her shift at Jarrold’s Bullards Gin counter in Norwich.
  • CCTV footage shows her smiling as she exits work.
  • Her movements were tracked until 4:01pm, after which she vanished.

Police Search Intensifies Near River Wensum

Gaynor’s coat, phone, glasses, and rings were found near the River Wensum in Wensum Park around 8:10pm on the night she disappeared. Norfolk Police have brought in specialist deep water divers with sonar equipment to scour the area.

Superintendent Wes Hornigold said: “We’ve released footage of Gaynor’s last known movements to help the public assist our search. Any information is crucial.”

Investigation Continues, No Signs of Foul Play

Comparisons have been made to the Nicola Bulley case earlier this year, but Norfolk Police stress there is no sign of third-party involvement in Gaynor’s disappearance. They urge anyone who saw her near the cathedral or around the city on that afternoon to come forward.

Her half-brother Allan Weston described the family’s ordeal as “incredibly stressful.” Police continue to support them while the search goes on.
