Bomb Squad Swarm Festival Place in Basingstoke Over Suspicious Package

Chaos erupted in Basingstoke’s Festival Place shopping centre after a suspicious package was found in the toilets. The 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search Regiment RLC have been called in to tackle the potentially deadly threat.

Festival Place Shuts Down as Police Lock Down Area

Police scrambled to seal off the entire town centre, warning the public to steer clear. A massive 100-metre cordon surrounds the complex as officers, fire crews, and HART paramedics from South Central Ambulance rush to the scene.

Emergency Services on High Alert, Investigation Ongoing

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the investigation is still at an early stage, while Hampshire Fire and Rescue said the incident is ongoing. Two fire crews from Basingstoke remain on site, ready to respond.

“We were requested by police to attend Festival Place, there are two crews from Basingstoke on scene,” said a fire service spokesperson.

Shoppers and passersby are urged to avoid the area until the threat is fully resolved.
