58 Arrested in Massive Crackdown on North London Crime
Police have slammed the brakes on crime in Haringey and Enfield with a jaw-dropping 58 arrests in just over a week. From February 5 to 13, early morning raids targeted suspected robbers, drug dealers, and organised criminals in a major blitz across the boroughs.
£250,000 Worth of Stolen Goods and Weapons Seized
The swoops hit homes across Haringey and Enfield on February 5-6 and 12-13, netting loads of stolen loot. Officers recovered over a quarter of a million pounds in mobile phones and electronics, linked to more than 300 robberies across north London. Knives, machetes, and other deadly weapons were also taken off the streets.
Major Nine-Month Operation Smashes Crime Rings
This was no one-off raid. The busts capped a nine-month undercover probe into organised gangs behind robbery, serious violence, and drug dealing. Support came from elite Met units like the Violent Crime Taskforce and Territorial Support Group.
“The Met’s top priority is tackling violence,” said Detective Superintendent Luke Marks, who led the operation. “We are making Enfield and Haringey hostile territory for weapon carriers, drug dealers, and anyone who threatens our communities.”
“Serious organised crime fuels much of the violence here. We will keep using every tool to bring offenders to justice and protect young people.”
Police Urge Public to Report Crime Anonymously
Detectives stress the importance of community help. If you know someone carrying a weapon or involved in crime, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. The charity guarantees 100% anonymity—no names, no call tracing.
These arrests send a sharp warning: North London’s streets are no place for criminals to hide.
