Huge Blaze at Weybridge Hospital Sparks Massive Emergency Response
Police and firefighters are battling a major fire at Weybridge Hospital after flames broke out just after midnight on Church Street.
Evacuations and Road Closures
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. However, many residents were evacuated as a precaution. Key roads, including Weybridge High Street, remain shut and are expected to stay closed for hours.
Firefighters Tackle Blaze Across Three Floors
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service deployed eight fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, and three water carriers to the scene. The fire spread through all three floors of the hospital building but is now under control. Several crews continue to work tirelessly.
Investigation Underway as Police Seek Witnesses
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Surrey Police are urging anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident reference P17174548.
“Surrey Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at Weybridge Community Hospital at 23:59 on Tuesday night and has been on scene dealing with the blaze overnight,” a Surrey Council spokesperson said.
Evacuated local residents have been taken to the Weybridge Centre in Churchfield Road while the investigation gets underway.
