Second Man Charged in London Terror Probe

The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command has charged a second man in their latest terror investigation. Ayub Nurhussein, 28, from south west London, was hit with terrorism offences on 26 July.

Serious Charges Unveiled

  • Nurhussein faces charges of funding terrorism under section 17 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
  • He is also charged with possessing documents likely useful for preparing acts of terrorism, under section 58 of the same Act.
  • He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 27 July.

Another Man Already in Custody

Earlier, 42-year-old Farah Ahmed, also from south west London, was charged on 25 July with possession and dissemination of terrorist material under the Terrorism Act 2006. Ahmed was remanded in custody and is due at the Old Bailey on 16 August.

Coordinated Raids and Detentions

Both men were arrested on 16 July at a residential address in south west London and detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act. Following court-approved extensions to their detention, charges were brought against them.

Police have since completed searches at a south west London home and a commercial site in south east London as part of the ongoing investigation.
