First Look at John Kennett, Victim of Thornton Heath Fatal Stabbing
60-Year-Old Man Fatally Stabbed on Woodcroft Road
Detectives have named the man killed in a stabbing in Thornton Heath as 60-year-old John Kennett. Police were called to Woodcroft Road at around 9:30pm on Monday, 23 December following reports of a stabbing.
Officers and paramedics found Mr Kennett outside a residential address with stab wounds. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:49pm.
Two Men Arrested as Murder Investigation Unfolds
A homicide probe is underway, led by Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding. A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene and taken into custody. He later fell ill and was hospitalised but remains in a stable condition.
Then, on Thursday 26 December, police arrested a 41-year-old man, also on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“The victim was found injured in a residential street,” said DCI Harding. “While Woodcroft Road isn’t a busy area, there may have been passers-by who saw something important. I urge anyone with information to contact my officers without delay.
“No detail is too small – your call could complete the picture of what happened before and after this tragic attack.”
