Fifth Dead and Dozens Injured in Shocking Westminster Terror Attack
Police have confirmed a fifth fatality in the brutal Westminster attack, which left 40 injured. Among the dead is a police officer who was stabbed, his attacker, and two pedestrians struck by a car on Westminster Bridge in a suspected terror rampage outside Parliament.
Chaos on Westminster Bridge
The horror began when a vehicle mounted the pavement on Westminster Bridge, ploughing into around a dozen people. The car then crashed into railings near Parliament. Bomb disposal teams are now dealing with a suspicious package found inside the vehicle.
Gunfire and Lockdown Inside Parliament
Shortly after the car attack, a police officer was stabbed outside the Houses of Parliament. Armed officers shot the alleged assailant. Inside, staff were plunged into lockdown after hearing multiple gunshots, with Parliament suspending all proceedings amid the terror scare.
Victims Suffer ‘Catastrophic’ Injuries
At least 20 victims have been rushed to hospital. A junior doctor at St Thomas’ Hospital described some injuries as “catastrophic,” underscoring the brutal nature of the attack.
