Axe-Wielding Robber Strikes Sheffield City Centre
An 18-year-old man has been arrested after terrifying shoppers and passersby with an axe during a series of robberies in Sheffield city centre.
Last week, locals reported eight chilling incidents, including attacks on Trafalgar Street and Rockingham Street.
Suspect Charged and Remanded
Debesay Teklehaymanot, from Ellerton Road, Firth Park, now faces three counts of robbery plus possession of an offensive weapon.
He was charged yesterday and has been remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.
