Quick Police Response Captures Suspects
Police rushed to a scene at a shopping centre after reports of a man being assaulted by several masked thugs at around 3.30pm. Officers tracked down a BMW with four men inside just five minutes later. The suspects, aged in their twenties and thirties, were swiftly arrested on suspicion of assault and public order offences.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Superintendent Johnston McDowell asked anyone in the area during the attack to help the investigation. “If you saw anything or have dashcam or CCTV footage, please call 101 with reference 1277 of 31/3/23,” he said. “We thank the public for reporting the incident promptly.”
Heavy Police Presence to Stay
“Community support is vital to our strong policing efforts,” McDowell added. Officers from Neighbourhood, Local Policing, Armed Response, and Tactical Support Teams will continue high-visibility patrols in the area. Authorities promised regular updates to keep the public informed as investigations proceed.
