Murder Probe Launched After Teen, 15, Fatally Stabbed in Greenwich

Teen Dies in Knife Attack on Woolwich Street

A 15-year-old boy has been tragically stabbed to death in Greenwich, sparking a full-blown murder investigation. The horrific attack happened on Sunday evening, 22 September, around 6:35pm on Eglinton Road in Woolwich.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after reports of a disturbance but despite desperate efforts, the boy died from his wounds shortly after arrival.

Detective Calls for Help as Family Mourns

Detective Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, head of policing in Greenwich, expressed his deep sorrow over the fatal stabbing. He said: “Once again we have had to tell a child’s family that their loved one has been killed in an act of violence using a knife. Our thoughts are with them as they struggle to comprehend what has happened.”

The victim’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers with the Metropolitan Police.

‘Zombie-Style’ Knives Blamed for Rising Violence

Lawry condemned the deadly “zombie-style” knives increasingly seen on the streets. He warned: “The fact that a 15-year-old teenager, who had his whole life ahead of him, has been taken from his family in this way is a stark and sobering reminder of the danger of these weapons. We are committed to doing everything in our power to take these weapons off our streets.”

Manhunt Underway – No Arrests Yet

A crime scene remains in place while detectives hunt those responsible for the attack. Local police teams and homicide specialists are collaborating to piece together exactly what happened.

So far, no arrests have been made, but enquiries are racing ahead as the community reels from the shocking violence.
