Two Burglar Bros Banged Up After Wavertree Spree
Robert Patrick Osu, 44, and John Joseph Khan, 52, from Liverpool, have been locked up for a string of daring burglaries across Wavertree. Osu gets one year and two months, while Khan bags six months.
32 Burglaries, 2 Guilty Pleas
The duo first got nabbed back in December 2021, but the story didn’t end there. Detectives on Operation Castle uncovered a lengthy conspiracy involving 32 burglaries. Both men faced serious charges, including conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to handle stolen goods.
- Khan admitted guilt to handling stolen goods for all 32 offences and conspiring to burgle.
- Osu pleaded guilty to 15 counts of conspiracy to burgle.
Their targets? Student homes on Lawrence Road, Jamieson Road, and Garmoyle Road during the late summer and autumn of 2021.
Operation Castle Strikes Back
Detective Inspector Kevin O’Rourke said: “We uncovered a catalogue of burglary, fraud and theft offences. These men deliberately targeted student accommodation to sell stolen goods on. I urge the public to report suspicious behaviour so we can act quickly. Thanks to Operation Castle, burglary rates have dropped across Merseyside. We’re committed to keeping it that way.”
Both Osu and Khan faced court earlier this year and admitted their crimes. Now, justice is served, sending a clear message to would-be thieves lurking around Liverpool’s student hotspots.
