A brutal murder investigation is underway after a 46-year-old woman was found dead following a gas explosion at a home on Dumont Road, Hackney, in the early hours of Tuesday.

At 4:57am, emergency services rushed to reports of a gas explosion with fears someone was trapped inside the property. The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade arrived swiftly.
Tragically, the 46-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene despite urgent medical treatment.
Man Arrested as Police Hunt Answers
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. His injuries are confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
Two children, aged 9 and 7, were taken to hospital as a precaution but are believed not to have been inside the house during the blast.
