Stolen Bike Linked to Hit-and-Run That Injured Toddler Seized by Police
A stolen motorcycle thought to be involved in a hit-and-run that left a three-year-old boy injured has been seized by Northumbria Police. The smash happened just before 8.15pm on June 20 on Kingsway in Newcastle’s Fenham area.
Toddler Hurt Crossing Road
The little boy was struck while crossing the road by a motorbike carrying a male rider and a male pillion passenger. The crash threw the pillion off the bike, and both men promptly fled the scene.
The tot suffered a broken arm and bruises. He was rushed to hospital but has since been released.
Police Hunt for Info on Stolen Bike
Sergeant Dave Roberts of Northumbria Police said: “We are working hard to understand the details of this incident where a young boy was sadly hurt. We urgently need information about the stolen motorbike, which could prove vital for our investigation.”
The bike was reported stolen from a home in Sunderland’s Wessington Way back on May 11. Authorities are calling on anyone with info about the theft or the crash to come forward.
