Woman Attacked with Ammonia in Shocking Daytime Assault
Police have launched a major investigation after a woman was doused with ammonia at a home on Whinfield Road. The attack happened just after 1.30pm on Sunday, March 3, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Victim Hospitalised but Injuries Not Serious
The victim, a woman in her 30s, had a corrosive substance believed to be ammonia thrown in her face. She was rushed to hospital for treatment but, thankfully, her injuries are not serious. She has since been discharged.
Police Hunt Key Suspect in Targeted Assault
Detective Inspector Kirsty Wyatt from West CID said, “It is only a matter of luck that this victim did not sustain more significant injuries. We are treating this incident extremely seriously.”
Authority officials believe the attack was isolated and targeted. They have reassured the public there is no wider threat but remain determined to find those responsible and uncover their motive.
19-Year-Old Suspect Sought
Police want to speak to 19-year-old Mickey Blundell, last seen on Radcliffe Road, Fleetwood. His cooperation is crucial to their enquiries.
DI Wyatt urged: “If anyone sees Blundell or knows where he is, please do not approach him. Contact the police immediately.”
