Portsmouth’s Lord Mayor Gears Up for Charity Bike Ride
The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, a passionate motorcyclist, is hitting the road next month for a charity ride alongside fellow bike and scooter fans. On Sunday, 3 April, riders will cruise from Lakeside, North Harbour to Castle Field in Southsea.
Revving Engines for a Good Cause
The event isn’t just a ride. At Castle Field, from 10am to 4pm, bikes will be on full display. Highlights include a best bike contest, live Express FM broadcast, stalls, and refreshments – all free to attend. The ride supports the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal and the Royal British Legion, aiming to boost local causes.
Join the Ride, Make a Difference
Riders and visitors can donate on the day to help smaller local charities. Lord Mayor Cllr Frank Jonas, who regularly watches the Isle of Man TT races, says:
“This year’s Lord Mayor’s Motorcycle and Scooter Charity Ride is building on the success of previous events. It’s a fun way of raising money.”
“Although my charity appeal is well on the way to hitting its target, we still have more small local charities I’d like to support with a £1,000 donation each. I’m calling on everyone to help make this support a reality for the organisations on our fundraising list.”
