Man Held on Terror Suspicion at Heathrow Released on Bail

29-Year-Old Stopped on Flight from Germany

A 29-year-old man was arrested by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday, 22 May. Police stopped him under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000 after he arrived on a flight from Germany.

Suspected Terror Links Spark Arrest

The man was detained on suspicion of membership of a proscribed organisation, violating Section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He was held under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) and taken to a south London police station.

Released on Bail, Investigation Continues

After questioning, the suspect was released on police bail until mid-June while inquiries continue. Officers also searched a property in north-west London as part of the ongoing investigation.
