Teen Arrested After Horrific Cat Attacks Rock Norwich

A Norwich teenager is in police custody after a shocking series of attacks left cats injured across the city. The youth, from the Norwich area and in his late teens, was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft following multiple cruel incidents.

Five Disturbing Cat Incidents in Just Two Weeks

  • The nightmare began on April 14 when a cat returned home from George Pope Close with both ears cut off, deep cuts to its lower back, and patches of fur removed.
  • On April 23, a man was spotted in Berners Street stuffing a cat into a holdall bag at 6pm. He fled empty-handed after being challenged by a passerby.
  • Another witness called police on April 24 after seeing a man swing a cat by its tail against a garage near Philadelphia Lane before running off towards Pengrove Road.
  • The very next day, a vet in Taverham treated a cat whose ears were both cut off—likely linked to the attacks.
  • Disturbingly, body parts of a cat were discovered on allotments in Woodcock Road on March 26 and April 4.
