A 33-year-old man is in custody, suspected of murdering 27-year-old Sanchini Thompson in Lewisham. The arrest followed a targeted operation by the Met Police.

Fatal Stabbing Shakes Lewisham

Sanchini Thompson was fatally stabbed in Rushey Green shortly after 3am on Wednesday, 15 October. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but despite desperate efforts, Sanchini died later in hospital.

Suspect Nabbed in Scotland

Police tracked down and arrested the suspect in Scotland on the night of Tuesday, 21 October. He is due to be transferred to London custody for questioning over the fatal attack.

Investigation Wide Open

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford said: “Our detectives have worked tirelessly to locate and arrest this suspect. The work doesn’t stop here. We will continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Sanchini as we strive to secure justice for him and his loved ones.”
