Kent Police Nab Man in Bold Anti-Poaching Crackdown
Kent Police’s Rural Task Force, teamed up with Thanet officers, have slammed the cuffs on a man caught poaching in Birchington. The arrest marks another win in their fight against illegal hunting in the countryside.
Operation Galileo Scores Big
- Target: The suspect was caught as part of Operation Galileo, focused on stamping out rural poaching and illegal hunting.
- Evidence Seized: Officers confiscated the suspect’s vehicle, a thermal monocular, and three dead hares found on site.

“This arrest shows we’re relentless in tackling rural crime and protecting local wildlife,” said a Kent Police Rural spokesperson. “We will keep working with partners until these offenders face the full force of the law.”
The man now faces charges for the hunting offences and remains under investigation.
