Man in 50s Killed After Horror Crash in Birmingham

A man in his 50s has died following a horrific collision on Soho Road, Birmingham, just before 11:20am this morning (16 December). The smash involved a car and two pedestrians near the Whitehall Road junction.

Second Victim Rushed to Hospital

A woman in her 40s was also caught up in the crash and remains in hospital with leg injuries. West Midlands Police say specially trained officers are supporting the family of the tragic victim.

Hit-and-Run Driver Still on the Loose

The driver behind the horror collision fled the scene and remains at large. Police have recovered the getaway car – a Vauxhall Corsa – near where the crash happened.

Officers are urgently appealing for anyone in the area or with dashcam footage to come forward.

Soho Road Shut as Police Probe Continues

  • Soho Road remains closed both ways while cops investigate.
  • Drivers are warned to avoid the area completely.
  • Witnesses should call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 1819 of 16 December.

West Midlands Police: “One person has sustained serious injuries and the other has leg injuries. The driver left the scene and we are working to locate them. Please avoid the area as much as possible.”
