Tragic Death After Worthing Road Smash
A 75-year-old man has died after being hit by a van in Worthing earlier this month, police confirmed.
Crash on Busy A27 Leaves Man Critically Injured
The incident happened on Friday, December 6, just after 4pm. A Mercedes Vito collided with the elderly pedestrian on the A27 Crockhurst Hill, near the A24 Offington roundabout. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Man Succumbs to Injuries Days Later
Despite the best medical efforts, the victim passed away on Thursday, December 12. Sussex Police have informed his family and are offering support during this heartbreaking time. The van driver escaped without injury.
Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses
Sussex Police are investigating and want to hear from anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage. A spokesperson said:
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the incident or captured footage of the collision. Any detail, no matter how minor, could assist us in understanding what happened.”
