Man Airlifted After Stabbing at Eastbourne Flats

A man was rushed to hospital by air ambulance following a stabbing in Eastbourne on Sunday morning, sparking a major emergency response at a local block of flats.

Stabbing Sparks Police Swarm

Emergency services were called to Whitley Road at 10:27am on July 20 after reports of a man with a puncture wound. Sussex Police confirmed the victim was stabbed and taken to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The drama centred around The Old School flats on Whitley Road, where police cars, vans, and forensic officers remained stationed throughout the day.

Suspect in Custody

A Sussex Police spokesperson said:

“We were called to a report of a man stabbed in Whitley Road, Eastbourne, at 10:27am on Sunday (July 20). The man sustained a puncture wound and was taken to hospital. His condition is not life-threatening.

A man, known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is currently in custody. The investigation is ongoing and officers are carrying out enquiries in the area.”
