Knife Attack at Islington Pub Leaves Victim with Life-Changing Facial Injuries

Police are hunting a brutal attacker after a 33-year-old man was slashed in the face at a busy Islington pub. The terrifying assault happened on April 26, 2023, around 8:30pm at a pub on Tollington Park.

Tranquil Night Turns Violent Over Football Tensions

The victim was enjoying the Arsenal v Manchester City match when a quick verbal spat with another man suddenly turned ugly. Witnesses say the suspect pulled out a knife and slashed the victim’s face from cheek to lip, leaving a deep and severe wound.

Paramedics raced to the scene and rushed the injured man to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries aren’t life-threatening, but he still requires ongoing treatment for the serious facial laceration.

Suspect Flees Scene – Police Release Image

The attacker vanished before police arrived. Despite a thorough investigation, police have not identified him. Now, officers have released a photo of the suspect, pleading for the public’s help in tracking him down.

Detective Constable Danitza Iniesta said: “The pub was packed with football fans that night. The victim and suspect were actually interacting peacefully until this shocking attack.”
