Armed Thugs Hijack Delivery Van in Brighton

Police are hunting two armed men who snatched a van in a brazen robbery in Brighton. The daring daylight heist happened in Wayland Avenue, Withdean, just before noon on Monday, December 18.

Van Driver Threatened Mid-Delivery

The driver of a white Ford Transit was making a routine delivery when he was confronted by the pair. The suspects forced him out, stole the van, and made off – leaving the driver shaken but unharmed.

Before the robbery, the van had stopped on Dyke Road and then took a route through Tongdean Drive to Wayland Avenue.

Descriptions of the Suspects

  • Suspect One: Slender white male, around 5’8”, short brown hair. Last seen wearing a brown jacket, yellow T-shirt, navy trousers, and a black beanie with a red 3M logo.
  • Suspect Two: Athletic build, also about 5’8” with short brown hair. Dressed in a blue denim jacket with white wool collar, white T-shirt, light blue trousers, and a gold necklace.

Call for Witnesses

Police urge anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. Tips can be given online or by calling 101, quoting case number 488 of December 18.
