GB News Crew Targeted at London Pro-Palestine March
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation after GB News journalist Katherine Forster and her crew were reportedly verbally abused and surrounded during a pro-Palestine protest in Central London on Saturday.
‘Very Intimidating’ Encounter Caught on Camera
Forster described the incident as “very intimidating.” A persistent man using a Tannoy demanded to know which outlet she was working for. When she admitted it was GB News, the man exploded with vile insults, calling them “fascist scum.”
“A guy on a Tannoy shouting at us wanted to know who we’re broadcasting from. He wouldn’t go away. He was very persistent,” Forster said. “Eventually, I said GB News; at that point he just, I can’t tell you what he said, but it was vile… A group of people came round us, all shouting at us. I have to say, it was very intimidating.”
Defending Press Freedom Amid Protests
Despite the hostility, Forster stressed that most protesters remained peaceful and underlined the critical role of journalists in bringing news to the public.
The Metropolitan Police backed the principle of press freedom on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “The right of the press to freely report on protests is no less important than the right to protest itself. They should be able to do so without facing intimidation or aggression.”
Officers have spoken with Forster and her team. A formal inquiry into the harassment is now underway.
