Met Police Hunt 35 Wanted Over London Protest Violence
The Met has unleashed 35 images of suspects connected to violent clashes during recent London demonstrations. They’re on the lookout for those who crossed the line from protester to attacker.
Commander’s Warning: Violence Won’t Be Tolerated
“Over the past month, many Londoners have peacefully joined demonstrations. But a small minority came to fight police or clash with other protestors,” said Commander Bas Javid.
“This behaviour is totally unacceptable. We’re running a huge investigation to track down those behind serious offences during protests between 3 and 13 June.”
230 Arrests So Far – But Police Want Your Help
- Nearly 230 arrests made
- 128 arrests linked to the 13 June demo
Detectives are combing through hours of CCTV, officer bodycam footage, and viral videos from social media to identify violent offenders. They’re now turning to the public for tips.
If you recognise anyone in these images or have any info, no matter how small, contact the Met on 020 8246 9386 or Tweet @MetCC. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Police Call for Peace Ahead of More Protests
The Met is urging everyone to share the message that violence spoils the cause of protests. “Violence and harm are unacceptable and divert attention from the real issues,” they warn.
More suspect images could be released as investigations continue. The message is clear: if you attack police or cause mayhem during protests, you will be hunted down.
