Murder Probe Launched After Woman Found Dead at Hampshire Home
A grim murder investigation is underway after a woman in her 60s was found dead at her house on Mansel Road East, Millbrook, Hampshire.
Two Arrested Over Shocking Killing
Police have arrested a 48-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman from Southampton on suspicion of murder. Both suspects remain in custody as officers launch a full-scale inquiry. The victim’s next of kin have been informed.
Detectives Hunt for Answers
“We are still in the early stages of our investigation,” said Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Burton. “Officers will be conducting extensive enquiries across the west of the city to piece together exactly what happened.”
“We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community. If anyone has information, please come forward. Your evidence may be critical.”
Community Reassured Amid Recent Violence
Superintendent Phil Lamb, Southampton’s district commander, acknowledged residents’ concerns, especially after last week’s attempted murder in the city centre. He said: “We have brought in extra officers from across the force to support local patrols. They are out engaging with communities and working tirelessly to keep you safe.”
