Sussex PCC Katy Bourne Scoops OBE for Policing Prowess
Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne has bagged an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) honour for her public and political service. Since smashing it in the 2012 election, Bourne has worked tirelessly to unite police and communities across Sussex, tackling local policing head-on.
Championing Safety and Justice
Bourne burst onto the scene with a focus on domestic abuse, sexual violence, and stalking – pushing these critical issues front and centre in Sussex policing. She’s driven by the belief that everyone has the right to feel safe and be policed with public consent.

Tributes Pour In for Tireless Efforts
“This is a tremendous endorsement of the role of Police and Crime Commissioners and testament to the hard work of the team in my office,” Bourne said. “I thank every police officer, PCSO, and staff member in Sussex for working tirelessly to keep us safe.”
Chief Constable Giles York hailed her as “a consistent force for good” and praised her support for the force and championing those whose voices often go unheard.
