Murder Probe Launched After Man Found Dead in Hackney
A murder investigation is in full swing after a man’s body was found at a Homerton Road address in E9 on Monday morning.
Man in His 50s Arrested Over Death
Police were tipped off when a man in his 50s walked into a local police station just after 10am. He was promptly arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
Victim Found at Scene, Known to Suspect
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the property, discovering the body of a man believed to be in his 60s. Authorities are working to confirm his identity and notify his family.
Detectives say the victim and suspect knew each other and are not hunting any more suspects at this time. Enquiries into what happened remain ongoing.

Acting Chief Superintendent Brigid Beehag-Fisher, overseeing Hackney and Tower Hamlets policing, addressed locals: “I know this will be distressing for local residents as well as the wider community. There will be an increased policing presence in and around the location in the coming days.”
