Man, 25, Dies After Violent Incident in Tilehurst
A 25-year-old man has died after suffering multiple injuries in a serious altercation in Dulnan Close, Tilehurst, tonight around 6.55pm.
His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers as police launch a major murder investigation.
Police Launch Murder Probe, No Arrests Yet
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Shearwood of the Major Crime Unit said: “We have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Reading this evening.”
He added: “The investigation is in its early stages, but we are carrying out thorough enquiries to find out what happened. Anyone with information should contact us immediately.”
Witnesses can call Thames Valley Police on 101 or report online, quoting reference 1619 of 6/2/21. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Community Reassured Amid Heavy Police Presence
Superintendent Nick John, Reading Local Policing Area Commander, acknowledged the incident would raise concerns locally.
He said: “Officers will remain in the area while investigations continue. Please speak to them if you have any information or worries.”
