New CCTV Footage Emerges in Hunt for Lucy McHugh’s Killer

Fresh CCTV images have surfaced showing Southampton schoolgirl Lucy McHugh just hours before she was brutally murdered. The 13-year-old was found stabbed to death in woodland last month, shaking the local community to its core.

Last Known Movements Caught on Camera

Lucy was spotted on CCTV at 9:06am walking past a convenience store on Wimpson Lane. Minutes later, at 9:22am, she is seen near Southampton General Hospital on Coxford Road. Her final known sighting was at 9:28am outside the Tesco Express at the corner of Lordswood Road.

Where Did Lucy Go Next?

The big mystery remains: what happened between that 9:28am sighting and 7:45am the next morning when her body was discovered at the Sports Centre? Detectives are desperate for answers.

“These CCTV images show Lucy walking purposefully towards the General Hospital shortly after leaving her home in Mansel Road East,” said Detective Superintendent Paul Barton.

“Perhaps you were on your way to a hospital appointment that morning and saw Lucy but didn’t think anything of it at the time. You might have seen her near the hospital or after she passed the Tesco Express further along Coxford Road.”

“A number 17 bus passed Lucy near the hospital. Were you on that bus? Did you see her later on?”

“It’s never too late to come forward. Your information could crack this case and bring Lucy’s killer to justice.”
