Man Attacked by Moped Gang on London Road
A man in his 40s was brutally assaulted by a gang of moped riders on London Road near Beresford Road on Saturday, 18 September 2021. The attack happened around 4pm when the victim was approached by a group of unknown young men on mopeds.
Gang Used Baseball Bat in Violent Assault
The group allegedly battered the man with weapons, including a baseball bat, leaving him with serious bruises. Detective Constable Martin Stevens urged witnesses to come forward:
“There were several people in the area at the time and we are urging anyone with information, or mobile phone footage of the incident, to contact us.”
Suspects Described as Helmeted Riders and Bareheaded Passenger
- Two suspects wore dark coats and black motorcycle helmets.
- A third suspect, a moped passenger, was white with short dark hair and no helmet.
Detectives ask anyone with dashcam or doorbell CCTV footage to check for clues. Witnesses yet to speak to police should call the appeal line on 01474 366149, quoting reference 46/813433/21.
