Burglar Busted After Harnham Spree!
Suspect Spotted on CCTV
Police were called to a Harnham home at 9.30pm after a man was seen acting suspiciously in the garden on a security camera.
Officers rushed to the scene but initially found no trace of the suspect. CCTV later revealed the garden shed and two storage units had been broken into.
Chase Ends Near Local Pub
A detailed description of the man was share with officers in the area. A man matching the description slipped past police on Netherhampton Road but was caught near the Mill pub at the Town Path entrance.
The man, believed to be in his twenties, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken into custody.
More Break-Ins Discovered
Further checks revealed that other properties on the same road had also been targeted by burglars.
Police continue to investigate as enquiries remain ongoing.
Police Urge Locals to Stay Alert
“Thanks to the vigilant resident who raised the alarm, officers acted quickly and managed to catch one man for questioning,” said A/Sgt Andy Windsor.
“We urge anyone who thinks their home or garden buildings were struck overnight to contact us. Also, please report any suspicious clothing found discarded in gardens.”
