Kent’s Special Constables Clock Nearly 33,000 Hours Battling Crime in 2021

A dedicated team of 100 volunteer Special Constables in north Kent went above and beyond in 2021. These everyday heroes, balancing day jobs from wrestling to banking, supported regular cops, patrolled neighbourhoods, and tackled crime head-on—clocking up a massive 32,951 hours of service.

Arrests, Road Safety & Emergency Response – All in a Volunteer Day’s Work

  • Proactive patrols to keep women and local communities safe
  • Responded swiftly to public calls for help
  • Handled criminal investigations and made numerous arrests
  • Ran critical road safety campaigns and engaged with the community
