From Road Safety to Arrests: Specials Do It All
The Specials weren’t just on patrol; they ran road safety campaigns, engaged with communities, and jumped into emergency response duties. They also made numerous arrests, took charge of investigations, and carried out proactive operations to protect Kent’s young women and girls.
Volunteers Juggle Policing With Day Jobs
What’s more impressive? These volunteers balanced policing with jobs ranging from professional wrestling to investment banking. Chief Superintendent Neil Loudon praised the team:
“This exceptional team gives up their own time to keep Kent safe. Despite a challenging year, their dedication helped us maintain a first-class service throughout the pandemic.”
Join Kent’s Police Volunteers
Special Constables have full police powers, wear the uniform, and work side-by-side with regular officers. All they ask is a commitment of at least 16 hours a month in an area of your choice. PC Sarah Wyatt, Special Co-ordinator for north Kent, said:
“I’m overwhelmed daily by their professionalism and dedication. Their support is now more crucial than ever.”
